The race is run. 05/06/2009

opps, about 10 days late, but then I struggle with time management...this can be a good thing sometimes as was the case last Sunday when I finished 43 minutes faster than I had predicted. My time was 3.57 which I was thrilled with. Madrid is a great city to run a marathon in. The course was quite hilly in parts, but the crowds & atmosphere made up for it. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone so inclined. I'm not sure if I 'hit the wall' but if I did, it may have been around a hill on mile 23. It didn't last long though and I was soon back to thinking about the differences between jelly babies, jelly tots, and jelly beans.

Sacha & Cathal were brillant supporters. They had their own run around the city as they cheered us on from a number of different vantage points, and seemed to be having a ball.

Ian O'Riordan was the best co-runner a person could ask for - chilled, expereinced, and able to recommend the best post-run beer of the lot!

That's it for a while now, until we get those disco lights glowing....our next fundraiser for The Bungoma Project is a boogie night with DJ Angus! Check back soon for details. Thanks x

I think you are great to do this. When I grow up I'm going to run through the streets like a mad thing too!
