Its June and its Dame St, and many will come by bicycle to hear Angus play funky tunes in a fundraiser for Bungoma called “There’s a dance in Billy Brennan’s Barn tonight.” The posters are up, the emails & texts are sent. So, with our dance shoes at the ready we are heading to Peadar Kearney’s on Dame St (two doors down from Gruel) this Friday night 26th June at 9pm. Join us if you can! opps, about 10 days late, but then I struggle with time management...this can be a good thing sometimes as was the case last Sunday when I finished 43 minutes faster than I had predicted. My time was 3.57 which I was thrilled with. Madrid is a great city to run a marathon in. The course was quite hilly in parts, but the crowds & atmosphere made up for it. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone so inclined. I'm not sure if I 'hit the wall' but if I did, it may have been around a hill on mile 23. It didn't last long though and I was soon back to thinking about the differences between jelly babies, jelly tots, and jelly beans. On my way 04/24/2009
Flying out this evening! It's been raining in Madrid but the forecast for the marathon on Sunday is a high of 19 degrees. Feeling excited but ready, as well as very encouraged by all the contributions so far. 7 days to go 04/19/2009
The site is up! Thanks to Rich & Hannah for technical know-how, creativity, words, and pictures. First Post! 04/13/2009
Last two weeks! Madrid is in a fortnight. Finished my longest training run so far: 20 miles on Friday; 2 hrs, 56 minutes. My Achilles was quiet until mile 17, and the whole day was a success. Thanks to Tim and Cathal for the company! |
